Where I found fuses and relays in our 2005 Jeep Liberty – Renegade

I thought I had a short in our Jeep Liberty, but it was just a relay.

My wife, Ginger, reminded me that the lights in our Jeep Liberty flashed on and off quickly whe she drove it. I had not noticed the last time I drove it, but I didn’t have the lights turned on, because it was daylight. Well, low and behold, it happened to me when I drove it and had the headlights turned on.

I decided to let my shadetree mechanic Trez look at it.

After checking with Google, it might just be a relay. That would be a super easy fix i thought. My next move was to find out which relay was acting up. I checked under the hood and the relays there didn’t reference headlights. I removed them individually just to see if by chance they were the ones. No luck there.

Now where are the relays in a 2005 Jeep Liberty? I checked YouTube and they show two other locations. One under the drivers side dash and the other on the left side of the drivers dash.

The big question is how to remove the panels to get to the relays and fuses. The following video shows where I found them on my Liberty. It does seem that earlier model’s access panels were slightly different, so be careful not to break anything.
