My “new” Craftsman Pole Saw

I bought my Craftsman pole saw last year and I am finally getting around to unboxing it and doing a review. It is part of my journey to replace manual and gas powered tools with battery powered alternatives. What I have found is that battery powered tools tend to be lighter than my gas powered tools and sure are easier to power up. Just press the button:) I have standardized on the Craftsman V20 tools and have been very happy with my decision. I’ve always had Craftsman tools so I figured why change now?

The model I purchased is the CMCCSP20M1. It came with an extension to give it a 14 foot length. The package includes the trigger/battery extension, the additional extension, the powerhead that has an 8″ pole chainsaw on an extension, a 4Ah lithium-ion battery, charger, empty plastic bottle to put oil in, a hex/screwdriver tool to adjust the chain tension and an owners manual.

I used it for a fairly big project and it worked very well. I used an older 4Ah battery and it lasted the whole time with power to spare. It does require that you manually lubricate the chain/bar. I did oil the chain/blade 5 or 6 times during use and it was not a bother at all.
