Trez is short for Trezevant. I was named after my grandfather David Asbury Pressley, Jr. and my great uncle George Trezevant Pressley. They called my great uncle Trez just like me!
If you Google Trez or Trezevant you will find out that the name is not quite that uncommon. There is a county in Tennessee called Trezevant and a Trezevant High School.
I have met several Trez’s and Trezevants and almost all trace their name back to the Trezevants that were French Heugenots. Many French Heugenots fled France in the 16th and 17th centuries because of religious persecusion. Some came to America, many landing in Charleston, SC. The French Heugenot Church in Charleston is a site you have to see when visiting there.
Don’t get me started, I can talk on and on about Trez’s.
What does this have to do with technology?
Nothing. I get asked all the time about the origins of my name so I thought I would start with that.
Now Blencowe is a whole nuther story…
