How to install a ham mobile radio in your car or truck? I installed my Yaesu FT8900R in my Jeep Grand Cherokee using 3M VHB tape and a magnetic mount dual band 2 meter 440 antenna. It is a semi-permanent installation and I did not have to drill any holes. The external speaker is mounted behind the rear seat pointing forward and it sounds great. I placed the remote head in the front dash compartment and placed the main unit and external speaker in the rear compartment. I followed up several months later with an update.
